My wife loves making holiday goodies and it's one of my favorite parts of Christmas. But we'd never think of making our own candy canes. Turns out for good reason! The skill and time involved is incredible! One of the steps requires a 2,000-lbs metal table needed to diffuse the heat from the 300-degree boiling sugar!

I'm glad I'm not a confectioner because I DO NOT have the patience for this! Halfway through just watching I was like, "Where's the candy already?!"

I'm guessing you can get quite a workout handling all that candy! And I wonder what they did before that heating table was invented? How did they keep it from cooling too fast?
