Some Washington kids are no longer allowed to play two-hand touch, tag or "patty cake" at recess.

The principal at Lakeridge Elementary on Mercer Island said switching from two-hand-touch football at recess to flag football has greatly decreased injuries and for that reason, they are now banning ALL physical contact at recess.

That includes tag, but also patty cake (or is it pat-a-cake?) and any make-believe games that may include tackling, three-legged races, carrying someone, piggy back rides and just about half of everything kids do together.

Have they gone too far? So far everyone I've talked to thinks so.
