Well, here's a fact that I wasn't expecting.

Washington is quite disaster prone.

We're actually the 4th most disaster prone state in the country. Even Oregon ranks in the top 10. Oklahoma, California, and Texas round out the top 3.

According to Moneywise, Washington has had dry spells that start damaging fires every year since 2000.

We all know Mount St. Helens, and the infamous explosion of 1980. But since 1953, there have been 136 major disasters. Ranging from floods to fires, mudslides, landslides, earthquakes, and of course that volcano eruption.

Plus, if you're a prepper or documentary enthusiast, you may be aware of the Cascadia Quake, which is alleged to happen again within the extended future.
