Verizon wants to put in a cell tower in central Pasco to improve reception. Seems awesome! Except that it will be just a few hundred feet from people's homes, a playground, and McGee Elementary School.

People in the surrounding neighborhood have signed a petition for the City of Pasco not to allow the permit to put in the tower because they are worried about radiation from the tower not being good for their health.

Residents from the area are also worried about the way the tower could look, although Verizon insists that the tower will not be more than 50 feet high, will be hidden from plain view, and will be painted to camouflage into the background.

So what do you think? Is it ok to put a potentially harmful cell tower right in people's backyard, and is it worth the better reception?
