This afternoon a westbound Prosser School District bus driving students home from the Tri-Tech Skills Center collided with a Jeep Cherokee on Clearwater Avenue in front of Perfect Circle Construction near the granary towers at about 6300 West.
Sgt. Ken Lattin of the Kennewick Police Department said the Jeep pulled in front of the bus and will be cited for failing to yield the right of way. The driver and passenger in the Jeep were taken to a hospital for chest pains. One of the students in the bus was taken to the hospital for a cut. Student Alexandria Rocha reported on Facebook she was slammed into the seat in front of her and hurt her throat.
After the accident the Jeep was towed first and a special tow truck removed the school bus. A second bus arrived to shuttle the students home to Prosser.
