With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, Washington’s Lottery is helping players across the state find their pot of gold. Each year Washington’s Lottery names its “Luckiest Stores” – retailers that sold the most winning tickets of prizes worth $1,000 or more in the past year – from six regions around the state: Puget Sound, Olympic Peninsula, Tri-Cities, central Washington, southwest Washington and eastern Washington.

This year’s Luckiest Store in the Tri-Cities is Kwick Stop at 2110 Swift Blvd in Richland. The store sold the most winning tickets of prizes worth $1,000 or more in 2011.

Steve Park is the owner of this year’s Luckiest Store. Kwick Stop is the smallest store on the list, with Steve also serving as the store’s only employee. When asked why his store was so lucky he exclaimed, “They like me!”

Steve has sold Lottery games in his store for seven years and said his customers have bought winning tickets worth more than $200,000 in 2008, 2009 and 2011! “My customers keep coming back because I know them all very well, and I put their picture on the wall whenever they win,” Steve said proudly. His most recent big winner was a $260,000 Hit 5 winner in September.
