Police have found a home-made explosive in Soap Lake north of Moses Lake.

Not much is known about an explosive device that shut down roads near Soap Lake this week, but it was the third time police were called upon to investigate a bomb threat this year.

The two previous incidents were crude devices left in driveways and on the side of the road. The first was left with a stick of lipstick on top, suggesting it was intended to send a message more than hurt people.

Again, little is known about this week's threat, but the previous two attempts would not have exploded even if thrown into a furnace. The maker clearly had little knowledge of explosives (thankfully).

Could it be punk kids playing pranks? The vain efforts of a deranged mind?
