I was a firefighter on Sept. 11, 2001. My entire firehouse spent that morning trying to arrange flights to New York City so we could help. The 9/11 Memorial at Southridge Sports Complex is special to me. I visit it every year in September and believe everyone in Tri-Cities should.
The City of Kennewick will hold a short ceremony on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at the 9/11 World Trade Center Memorial at the Southridge Sports & Events Complex at 2901 Southridge Blvd., Kennewick. It will begin at 6 p.m. and only last about 20 minutes. The public is encouraged to attend.
