The movie is based on the true life story of 'Buck', a man that has been here in the Tri-Cities, held horse clinics, and that some call the REAL "Horse Whisperer".

June 1, 2011 The famous Lipizzaner Stallions put on a fabulous show...or so I've heard! The Lipizzaner Stallions will be at the Toyota Center in Kennewick on June 10th, hopefully I can catch them this time around!
Things got a little strange at the Davis County Sheriff's Mounted Posse Junior Queen Contest in Framingham, Utah after an outbreak of horse herpes forced the contestant to show off their equestrian skills on stick ponies.
Although equine herpes poses no threat to humans, the deadly disease is highly contagious among horses, and the animals are generally quarantined during outbreaks. (Which is why live horses weren't available for the Junior Queen Contest.)
There have been 3 confirmed cases of the Equine Herpes Virus-1 in Washington State.
May 31, 2011 Horse events across the state are being canceled as a precaution to prevent the spread of a highly contagious disease that has been confirmed in three horses in Washington.
Although it cannot be contracted by humans, the disease, Equine Herpes Virus-1, is easily spread among horses, alpacas, and llamas. It can be airborne and transmitted by touch or by sharing feed, brushes, bits and other equipment.
May 23, 2011 A recent disease outbreak of Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHV-1) has been traced to horses who attended the National Cutting Horse Associations’ Western National Championships in Odgen, Utah on April 30 – May 8, 2011.

I know for me, and my horse riding friends, there is no relationship that parallels the partnership of a horse.
