Delays Expected With Blue Bridge Closure Thursday

Around 2:16pm Wednesday, we received word of a serious traffic situation just South of the Blue Bridge.

US 395 from milepost 18 to 20 there will be single lane traffic  from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday of this week. (between the Blue Bridge and Argent Road)  The Argent Road ramps will be closed occasionally throughout the night. Interstate 182, paving milepost 2 to 8, Monday through Wednesday...

For the past 15 years I've had the honor of crossing the blue bridge every day. like clockwork I get a bit of road rage BECAUSE OF OTHER DRIVERS! pretty sure people don't have a clue on how to drive over the bridge. remember, it is your responsibility to drive reasonable and prudent over such a short and NARROW roadway...

Southbound traffic was completely halted for about an hour Thursday morning when roughly a dozen vehicles were involved in bumper-to-bumper collisions. A red, Tri-Cities Animal Shelter & Control Services officer vehicle was smashed between a mini-van and a cement truck.

Crews with the Department of Transportation reopened the southbound lanes of US 395 over the Blue Bridge at about 6:30 a.m this morning, one day ahead of schedule.  The project leader says they were better prepared for the southbound work after running into problems with the expansion joints on the northbound lanes last week...

Northbound lanes on the Blue Bridge are closed this morning for repairs and will be through early Nov. 5. Traffic is being directed onto Columbia Drive and then the Cable Bridge. That means in the mornings Columbia Drive and Gum Street are PACKED with cars and semi-trucks trying to get to Pasco...

So once again I a making way to an appointment and yet there is another accident on the Blue Bridge. For years even with the fixes that they made a few years ago the traffic has still not improved. This time it looked to be at least 5 cars involved either by inattentive driving, driving too fast, or making a last nano second lane change...
