Surfing in the rain, wind and cold water?  Must be the Oregon Coast. My son, Anthony, surfs the Oregon Coast twice a week.  He's invited me to join him many times and last weekend I finally took up the invitation. I wasn't disappointed.

When I lived in Hawaii -  surfing, body surfing, and boogie boarding in warm tropical waters were just part of a normal week for me.  I never imagined I'd ever consider surfing in water below 60 degrees. With the wetsuit I hardly noticed the cold.  The air temperature was 65, the wind was blowing around 15 mph, sheets of rain and mushy swells ranging from 3 - 6 feet.  Not ideal, but still surprisingly fun!   The beach and scenery was breathtaking - check out the panoramic video below.
