A bulk carrier ran aground on the Columbia River near Cathlamet, Washington and is in danger of spilling over 250,000 gallons of fuel according to news reports. The Coast Guard says there are no signs of leaking now, but they are monitoring the situation closely. The ship is named the Sparna and is carrying 200,000 gallons of high sulfur fuel and 40,000 gallons of marine fuel. Two tug boats are helping stabilize the ship while they figure out how to get it off ground.
