I think we have excellent schools here so, I'm sure it's not because schools are failing! But, certainly some parents might think of many benefits to homeschooling their children.

I'm assuming it can be both wonderful or horrible depending on WHO is doing the teaching!  Not every parent would make a good teacher I don't think!.

To me, the funnest part of school was the social part! And the elective classes like Dance, Gymnastics, Choir and Drama And, those happened to be the only classes I excelled at! ;)

I'm not even sure if those kinds of classes are offered in schools anymore! But, I do think it's nice that parents have a choice!

I was working full time when my kids were in school so, I couldn't have done it! Not to mention, I think anything past about 8th grade and forget it! That's when the math  gets difficult! (Teehee) Unless, of course it was a class about horse riding, singing, dancing, gymnastics or drama I would be useless!  You get my point!

I'm so very grateful that my boys went to Cathedral Montessori when they were little and  than transferred to Tapteal Elementary and graduated from Hanford High School, which I was incredibly impressed with!

The reason I say this is, both boys were very well prepared for college and breezed through and graduated with their 4 year degree with excellent grades! One from UW and the other from WSU.

I could have NEVER prepared them for that success!

But, for parents whom think they might be able to, and are interested in homeschooling their children...
