Seahawks Cliff Avril has released a statement saying that he "is NOT" thinking about retiring. That statement made to Yahoo Sports by Cliff Avril contradicts previous reports that he was thinking of retiring by multiple news organizations. Avril was hurt in the week 4 game against the Colts when he sacked the QB and his knee hit his chin. Avril experienced numbness in his arms after the sack, was taken out of the game, and has seen multiple doctors since. Avril says he is still experiencing numbness in his arms.

“People are saying I’m retiring because of what coach Carroll said but he’s referring to surgery,” says Cliff Avril in a text message.

Pete Carroll had previously made statements about a "big decision" Avril was about to make and reporters read into it obviously. Cliff will go on injured reserve and most likely will not play again this season, although he still might get better according to multiple reports.

Having met his family multiple times, I hope he makes a full recovery and returns to the teammates he loves. He has been one of the most exciting players to watch over the last 5 years and I along with all the 12's will miss him.
