The dust storm Saturday evening caused low visibility on the roads, resulting in a major crash 11 miles south of Prosser that sent numerous people to the hospital.

An 8-month-old baby died and his 7-year-old brother was in critical condition, but awoke from a coma Sunday.

Two 17-year-olds were also sent to the hospital, along with a 43-year-old Pasco woman, a man from Utah and an elderly couple from Bremerton.

It occurred about 5:30 p.m. and blocked travel for hours. Two other serious wrecks occurred the same night, one closer to Pasco, the other closer to Yakima.
