Pasco Schools released a statement at 10am Tuesday:

Following guidelines on air quality from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Pasco School District has decided to keep all students and staff inside for recess, lunch and physical education classes today (9/5). All outdoor after-school activities and athletic practices/games have also been postponed.
In addition, principals have been advised to make sure that students do not wait in any lines outside the buildings. It is important for students and staff to remain well hydrated when the air quality is poor. Lungs can become dehydrated which can make it difficult to cough up particles that are inhaled.
The district is closely monitoring the air quality in our area and will continue to evaluate the situation as the week progresses. The health and safety of students and staff is the district's highest priority.

In addition, Prosser has cancelled middle school sports, the h.s. football practice will be held indoors.
