May is mental health awareness month. There are been art shows, films, and gatherings of all sorts in communities across the country raising awareness and creating supportive spaces for those effected by mental illness and their loved ones. Tri-Cities has also hosted several such events, and there's another one happening May 26th. Performers Untied along with Southeastern Washington FYSPRT  and YouthSound are hosting an youth mental health open mic night at the Crow's Nest in the Clover Island Inn.

The event is youth oriented event and welcomes youth to come show off their talent. Singing, dancing, comedy, rapping poetry and more will be the order of the evening. Their theme is hope, so if you want to show off your skills, make sure you include the theme. Oh, and please keep it PG! :)

The event was created "because May is Mental Health Awareness month, because we believe in fighting the stigma of mental health, because recovery is possible, and because we want to allow people in the community to get involved in receiving, promoting, and improving our services!"

This free and family-friendly event is on May 26th, 7pm at Clover Island Inn: 435 N Clover Island Dr in Kennewick.
