A 61 year old man was talked out of jumping off the Fred Redmon Bridge on Wednesday.

Yakima police got reports of a man sitting on the rail of the bridge just after 11 in the morning.  When a Yakima County Sheriffs Office deputy and a negotiator from Yakima Police arrived, they talked to the man for about 20 minutes.

Finally the man decided not to jump and got down of the rail in the center of the bridge where he was sitting. Then he was taken to a local hospital for examination, according to reports.
