A man having a medical emergency had to be rescued off the Pasco High School roof this weekend. The man was shoveling snow off the roof when he had the medical emergency and crews were called to help him according to news reports. When paramedics and firemen arrived, they had to use a "straight stick ladder"  and "strokes basket" to get him down because the access to the roof was so difficult.

The Pasco Fire Captain said the "strokes basket" is a basket they strap the victim into and carry down beside the ladder. The man was then lowered to the ground and taken to a local hospital where he is expected to survive and all reports say he is ok.
