The soldiers of the Washington National Guard are citizens like you and me who dedicate their time to serving our military. They train a few weekends a year in order to be ready in case an emergency strikes Eastern Washington. They also do rotations assisting the full-time military in theaters of conflict.

Members of the Delta Company 1-161 Infantry train part of the time at the Pasco Armory. We're profiling members of Delta Company to thank them for their service. Sgt. Ben Ashworth lives in Spokane and has a rare job -- even though he's a citizen soldier his paycheck comes from serving in the guard's Honor Guard. He is married and enjoys drawing and reading.
