102.7 KORD joined the City of Kennewick for a special 9/11 memorial and dedication at the Southridge Sports Complex in Kennewick. An estimated 4500 were in attendance as the 6000 pound steel beam from the World Trade Center was erected and dedicated in the complex. KORD staff members began inflating balloons very early in the morning - by 10am we had inflated 3000 red, white, and blue balloons. After the ceremony, those in attendance had the opportunity to help simultaneously release the balloons into the Tri-City skies - honoring the approximate number of victims of the 9-11 attacks.

Special thanks to Oxarc Pasco for providing the helium and the Paper Factory in the Broadmoor Mall for the balloons!
