Kennewick police officers responded to a call about domestic violence last night and found drops of blood outside the apartment and inside.

Inside the apartment were two women who were mostly uncooperative. Also inside was a man, age 29, with a warrant out for his arrest, so he was taken into custody.

One of the women said her boyfriend had cut his hand on a bottle, was bleeding, but wouldn't say where he was at.

As police searched the apartment, a neighbor called 9-1-1 after seeing a man fall from a second-story balcony -- the same apartment's balcony. It turns out the disturbance reported to police had something to do with the cut hand, and because the boyfriend, age 30, also had warrants out for his arrest, he tried to flee.

The boyfriend fell off the balcony, hit his head on the pavement and was lying unconscious. He was transported to Trios and then airlifted to Harborview with significant, but non-life-threatening injuries to his head.
