Over a decade since winning his first Entertainer of the Year award at the 2005 CMA Awards, Keith Urban has been nominated once again for the coveted prize. The"Blue Ain't Your Color" singer says the nod is "extraordinary."

"I love playing live," he tells Rolling Stone Country. The 2016 CMA Awards nominees were revealed on Wednesday morning (Aug. 31). "It's an intense passion for me, and thank God. I couldn't imagine not doing it. I'd be playing guitar down on Broadway tonight if I wasn't doing this. If my career wasn't in the place it's at right now, I'd be playing some club somewhere. This is what I've always done, and I just feel incredibly lucky and blessed that I get to do it at the level that I get to do it at."

In addition to being nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Urban has also been named a nominee for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Ripcord and Musical Event of the Year for "The Fighter," which features Carrie Underwood. Urban isn't slowing down by any means with all these accolades — in fact, the eight-time CMA Awards winner says the recognition feels like a new page in his career.

"I feel an immense amount of satisfaction for what I've gotten to do so far," he says. "But right now, Ripcord and the way it's been received, it feels like the start of the next chapter. It's a great feeling."

The 50th Annual CMA Awards air Nov. 2 on ABC.
