Jake Owen Quit College to Pursue Music Career, Every Parents Nightmare

What would you say to your son or daughter if they decided to drop out of college (with one semester left) to pursue a singing career?  That's exactly what Jake Owen did.

Jake Owen had one semester to complete before graduating college when he made the decision to drop out to pursue music.  He said, quote, "I told my parents I was gonna try to make it playing guitar and singing and writing my songs".  It all began in his hometown at the Riverside Cafe for 50 or 60 bucks a night and a grilled mahi sandwich.  He talks about dropping out at the 1:22 mark of the video below.
