The continuing government shutdown could effect your tax refund.

The government shutdown has shuttered the IRS who isn't doing their usual refunds, audits or customer service.

If you call the IRS during the shutdown all you will get is an automated response.

Tax filing usually starts in Mid-January so we still have a few weeks for it to be a concern but a lingering shutdown could effect your refund timeline.

The IRS hasn't officially started accepting tax returns and a timeline hasn't been established but be aware if the government shutdown continues it could effect your filings for 2018.
