Hope Solo’s Amazing Save Versus Canada

If you missed it over the weekend one of the greatest goal saves in female soccer history happened and Richland’s own Hope Solo was behind it all.

The save, amazing as it was has also sparked good debate on if the goal should of counted or not. If you watch the entire video you’ll see at the end the Canadian forward makes a strong effort to get the ball in the goal and it looks as though it does cross the line while in Hope’s hands.

I’m not 100% sure about rules in professional soccer but I do remember growing up and playing rec soccer that as soon as the goalie has the ball in possession you have to stop your attempt at finishing the attack.
