Home Town Profile – Hermiston

Hermiston is located in Umatilla county, Oregon; roughly seven miles south of the Columbia river. In the late 1800s the town was called the six mile house and became a rest stop for tired road workers and travelers. Town name was inspired from “the Weir of Hermiston.” There are roughly 17,000 people living in Hermiston according to the 2010 census.
