The man was allegedly suicidal when he got access to the plane. The Horizon Air employee crashed the plane into Ketron Island. There were no ground injuries, and the man was assumed dead.

The man took off in the Bombardier Q400, a 76-seat aircraft. The crash caused an intense fire. Ketron Island has a population of around 20 people and is only accessible via ferry.
