Here’s How You Can Cut Your Own Christmas Tree for Free!
Yes, you read that right. You can cut your own Christmas tree for free in the Umatilla National Forest, but there's a catch. It's a cute catch, though, so you won't be too mad. If you have a 4th grader in your family, they can get a voucher for a free tree through a program called a program called Every Kid in a Park. Just to go www.everykidinapark.gov, and follow the instructions to get the voucher.
Don't have a 4th grader at home? No worries, you can still get a permit to cut a tree for just $5! You can pick them up in Walla Walla, Pendleton, or Pomeroy. If you've never cut your own tree, I highly recommend the experience. Truly a fun and memorable experience for the whole family!
