There's nothing worse than slow drivers in the fast lane on the freeway. It's called a passing lane for a reason. You get in, pass other cars, then get out. Lawmakers in Olympia agree and are debating a new law to stop slow drivers.

A senator from Spokane is sponsoring the bill. It would establish different levels of fines for just how much under the speed limit someone goes in the left lane.

People who ignore the rules of the left lane are a hazard to health and safety, the senator says. Fines would start at $27 and could be added to fines for existing laws for driving too slow on freeways.
