Wayne L. Lafferty got a lenient sentence back in 2005 of just 3 months in jail when he admitted to a judge he liked child porn. Now he will serve over 10 years in prison after being convicted for his second offense when found with over 47,000 images of child porn on his computer.

Even after receiving sex offender treatment and 2 years of court supervision for his first offense, Lafferty went back to his old ways. He bought another computer and went right back to child porn.

Lafferty was caught after exchanging pictures and videos between October 2015 and January of 2016 with undercover agents working for Homeland Security Investigations, according to news reports.

When agents arrested Lafferty in his trailer in January of 2016, he was on his computer actively downloading and viewing child porn.

Lafferty pleaded guilty soon after and was sentenced.

After he serves the 10 years in prison, Lafferty will have another 15 years of close supervision by the courts. He will also have to install monitoring software on any computer he uses.

The defense requested that Lafferty be sent to a sex offender management program at low-security federal facility in Littleton, Colo.
