Strides of Strength will be held this year on Saturday, April 16.This walk is to help increase awareness of abuse/violence.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month & Sexual Assault Awareness Month. And The Support, Advocacy & Resource Center (SARC) is a non-profit agency helping victims/survivors impacted by violence.

Strides of Strength registration is FREE and will begin at 10:30am; opening ceremonies begin at 11:00pm.

The starting point for Strides of Strength will be the Lord of Life Church, 640 North Columbia Center Boulevard, Kennewick, WA 99336.

Those that attend will have the opportunity to hold a “little person” in order to show support and raise awareness.

Kennewick Police Department (including the Chief of Police, Ken Hohenberg), Kennewick Fire Department, and many other organizations in a community effort to raise awareness of abuse/violence. KPD blocks off a portion of Columbia Center Boulevard for our walk. Those that attend will have the opportunity to hold a little person (which is a little wooden figurine) representing a child victim of abuse. This past year, we had 553 investigated child abuse cases in Benton & Franklin Counties.  These “little people” will also be displayed at the Columbia Center Mall from April 8-15 (flyer attached.)
