Dolly Parton speaks onstage at the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards

Lady Gaga recently released a countrified version of her infectious dance anthem ‘Born This Way,’ and not even country purists can deny that the twangy edition of the song works. Reigning country diva Dolly Parton gives the song two very enthusiastic thumbs up … and might want to work with Gaga herself!

“I think it’s great,” Parton told E! backstage at the GLAAD Media Awards. “It’s just wonderful. I love her.”

Beyond heaping praise on Gaga, Parton suggested that the two blonde superstars should partner up down the road. “Maybe we should do something together — GooGoo and Gaga!” Parton said. “You know those GooGoo candy bars in Nashville? I could be Lady GooGoo.” It would be a divine pairing, that’s for sure.

Parton also recently teamed up with rap diva and actress Queen Latifah in the film ‘Joyful Noise,’ which focuses on a national choir competition and is on tap for release next year. “I wrote four of the numbers,” Parton said. “There are a couple we got to do together. There’s a lot of great music in the movie.”

We bet once Lady Gaga gets word of Parton’s kind words that she’ll tweet about it, and the seeds of a collaboration will hopefully be planted.
