David Nail Will Release ‘The Sound of a Million Dreams’ in November
David Nail’s career took plenty of twists and turns before he finally found his audience — including a busted deal at Mercury Nashville and a stint as a baseball coach. But when he finally released his debut album in 2009, its title ‘I’m About to Come Alive,’ proved prophetic.
Now, Nail is one of country’s hottest freshman acts, and he’s looking to build on that success with the release of his second album ‘The Sound of a Million Dreams,’ in November.
“I don’t know how to describe my last record in the best terms, but it was definitely a reflective record and I was coming out of a somewhat moody and dark time of my life,” said Nail during the sessions for ‘Dreams.’ “This record, I wanted to branch out and make it stand up on its own a little bit more. Make it a record you listen to and automatically anticipate seeing live with songs that will really stand out live.”
He’ll have his chance to prove the new material on the road next month, when he joins Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now tour as an opening act. It seems safe to say his set will include the album’s leadoff single ‘Let It Rain,’ already a Top 20 hit, as well as ‘I Thought You Knew,’ a song Nail co-wrote with Lady Antebellum‘s Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley.
Produced by Chuck Ainlay and Frank Liddell, ‘The Sound of a Million Dreams’ is scheduled for a November 15 release.
