Cure for ALS on the Way! Thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge!

Apparently the funds raised with the Ice Bucket Challenge, gave researchers a chance to do a bit more studying on the matter.   With over $100 million raised, Researchers at John Hopkins University discovered That  A protein called TDP-43 causes ALS.Apparently, the protein clumps up inside the neurons of people with ALS, as well as 45% of people with a type of dementia called FTD.

It could still be years before a cure is found. But they really made some headway! So Thank you to all who participated in that challenge!
