Given one of the suspects was said to be high on narcotics, it's likely their theft was related to getting items to sell to fund their habits.

Wednesday morning West Richland police arrested a man and woman, names not released, for allegedly breaking into several storage units at the Van Giesen Mini Storage facility at Van Giesen and Crosscup Roads.

Mid-morning, police saw them driving away in a mini-van, which was later found to contain a number of stolen items. The woman, who was driving, was impaired, and the man wanted on several outstanding warrants, according to KEPR-TV.

They were both booked into the Benton County Jail. One of the theft victims was able to identify her belongings found in the van, police are working on contacting the other people to return their property.

Authorities say it's not unusual for people to steal items, then sell them to pay for drugs or narcotics.
