The third annual "Dia de los Muertos" will be Oct. 24 and 25th in Walla Walla. This "Day of the Dead" festival is kind of like Memorial Day in Mexico, but is a fitting Hispanic event to parallel Halloween with skeletons and candy.

The festival begins Friday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m. with a parade from Walla Walla's library to Gesa Power House Theater where a concert will take place.

On Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in front of the theater on 6th Avenue, the festival continues with Dia de los Muertos art displays from Whitman College, displays from Shakespeare Walla Walla, live music and food vendors.

Admission is free.
