What Candy Do You Miss From Childhood Trick-Or-Treating? [SURVEY]

When I was a kid my Trick-Or-Treating bag was always full of Big Hunk bars when I got home. Now I hardly see them. I really miss Zots (the hard candy with sour, fizzy powder inside) and Tangy Taffy, too. All three are still available, but Halloween no longer brings a plethora of them. What do you miss?

Throwback Thursday: Do You Miss Elvira or Vampira More? [POLL]

"Movie Macabre" starring Elvira: Mistress of the Darkness was a hit show in the 1980s inspired by "The Vampira Show" from the 1950s. Cassandra Peterson's Elvira was clearly a satire of Maila Nurmi's Vampira (who was inspired by the Morticia Addams cartoons).

This morning, I was driving my son to daycare and I had to drive through the area around CBC at 7:30 am. If you have ever had to try to drive by CBC at this time you know it is almost impossible. The city of Pasco needs to do something about this and I have a simple solution.

I Freaking Love Yakima! Who Else?

Here in Tri-Cities we like to make fun of Yakima -- the Palm Springs of Wahington and YakiVegas being favorites. I'm guilty. But now that I've been spending more time there for work, I gotta say, I love the place.

What’s the Worst Job You Ever Had? [SURVEY]

The worst job I ever had was harvesting bricks. At the job site it was all high school kids and I was 16. I lasted one day. You were paid $15 per pallet and one pallet is a lot of bricks!

What’s Your Favorite Scene in John Carpenter’s “The Thing”

My favorite horror movie, "The Thing," came out in 1982 the same day as "Blade Runner" and the same week as "E.T." -- so it's easy to see why it got lost in the shuffle. Today it's a cult classic. I've watched it a dozen times or more. For 1980s monster/alien gore, few films are better. What's your favorite scene?

Is the ALS Foundation Worthy of All This Money It’s Receiving? Your Thoughts? [POLL]

My favorite Tri-Cities charity has no staff making six figures and never will -- it's a pledge they made. So when I found out the ALS Foundation has 11 staff members making over $100,000 with the CEO making $339,000 I was bothered. I also learned only 27 percent of the donations actually go to ALS research. Is it a worthy charity? My friends still say YES! Find out why and you weigh in.
