April 25, 2011 A Washington state bar said it has canceled its weekly goldfish races following complaints from people claiming association with an animal rights group. (Yeah PETA).

My Horse At The Dentist Yesterday!
April 20, 2011 If you're a horse owner, you know with spring time.. comes a host of things to get up to date with. West Nile shots, Spring Vacinations, de-worming, and check on your horses teeth. I always think that Spring is the best time to haul your horse to the local vet and have them do a "once over" to make sure everything is up to par. I like to also get a stool sample to check for parasites and sand.
My horse Galeron had dropped a significant amount of weight recently and I had gotten his teeth floated a year and a half ago..so, I did NOT think it was the problem.
But, low and behold, the vet did find some uneven wear and sharp edges on his teeth. I guess that can happen more often than I had thought.

Salamanders, turtles and goldfish oh my! Remember when these were just snacks in China, no more. Start your car with your new pet turtle, open up your home with your friendly salamander. The best part of this new fad, if you do lose your keys you'll be able to find them in a couple of days by following the smell of your rotting new pet. Street vendors in China have helped to create a new trend in the country by touting tiny reptiles sealed in colored water and attached to a keychain to passers-by.
The newest craze is nothing short of bizarre, which is probably why so many people are interested in purchasing one of their own portable salamanders, turtles or goldfish. Despite its novelty, though, animal activists are less than pleased.

Nevertheless, hunting regulators in Harrisburg, PA, say it's time to declare open season on the odd-looking rodents after residents began citing property damage as a result of the porcupines running amuck.
