Congratulations to the Blue Mountain Community College men’s and women’s rodeo teams, which swept the Northwest Intercollegiate Rodeo Finals May 1-2 in Hermiston! Both teams topped the standings for the Northwest region, with Danyelle Williams landing at the top of the Women’s All-Around standings, and Callahan Crossley taking 5th and Makenzie Fuller taking 6th. BMCC took the top six slots in the Men’s All-Around standings with Jared Parke, Clayton Hansen, Chase Hansen, Michael Pederson, Jordan Tye and Austin Thompson, respectively.
Jared Parke also topped the standings in Tie-Down roping and Steer Wrestling, while Jessica Lewis and Callahan Crossley took 1st and 2nd place, respectively, in barrel racing.
The weekend’s stellar results also bumped up both the men’s and women’s teams in the national rankings. The men’s team now sits in the No. 2 spot nationally, while the women’s team is ranked 3rd in the country. Jared Parke is No. 3 in the Men’s All-Around national rankings, while Danyelle Williams is ranked 4th in the Women’s All-Around. Also coming in the top 25 in the Men’s All-Around are Clayton Hansen (No. 7), Chase Hansen (No. 14), Michael Pederson (No. 18), and Jordan Tye (No. 20). In the Women’s All-Around, Callahan Crossley is ranked No. 15 in the nation.
Jared Parke also sits in the No. 1 spot nationally for Tie-Down Roping, with Jordan Tye and Michael Pederson in the No. 9 and No. 11 spots, respectively.
