I recently had a little 'Adventure' on the West Side of the Cascades and enjoyed it so much!
We took a Ferry ride from Mukelteo to Whidbey Island, and then drove to

Ebbys National Park Washington, where we hiked around a bit and saw such beautiful scenery. Then we went on to a location along the water where we could see the San Juan Islands to our right, the Olympic Mountains toward our left and the ocean leading out to the Strait of Juan De Fuca! It was spectacular! Then we headed to Deception Pass State Park where I stood on the bridge of Deception Pass and looked out over the vast beauty of sky, water and mountains! It was Breathtaking!

Those romantic towns bordering the shoreline are so quaint and unique. We ate scrumptious sea food and chowder overlooking the water!

I think there are plenty of fun and affordable places to stay in these areas as well!

Have fun!
