More information has emerged about the late night fatal crash on Highway 395 Northbound from Pasco.

Authorities and sources say it occurred just before the SR 17 offramp north of town. Sources say a mini-van or truck was behind a Washington State DOT salt-sanding truck, which was apparently traveling about 25mph while it was laying down it's load.

Sources say the driver of the vehicle either didn't see it or wasn't paying attention, and slammed into the back of the sanding truck at highway speed. It hit so hard it ended up underneath the rear of the large truck. The driver was likely killed instantly, no mention of any other passengers or injuries. Sources told Newstalk870 no other photos were released to media due to graphic nature of the crash scene.

The investigation continues.
