9-11 Flying The American Flag Protocol

We have had a couple of phone calls from listeners asking how do we fly the American Flag on Sunday September 11. Here is what we have found.

Display your flag at half staff from sunrise to sunset. On December 18th, 2,001 President Bush signed public law No. 107-89 designating September 11th as Patriot Day. The people of the United States are asked to observe Patriot Day with appropriate programs and activities to honor the individuals who lost their lives. In observance, US flags should be displayed at half-staff from sunrise to sunset. 

Be sure to come out and join us on Sunday for the dedication of the 9-11 Memorial at Southridge Sports Complex just of Hwy 395 in Kennewick. Come and help blow up balloons! The release of 3000 balloons will take place just after the dedication at 1pm.
