Sharon Tate was 26 years-old and eight months pregnant when she was murdered along with four friends in her home in August of 1969 by the Manson family.

Her work in the cult classic Valley of the Dolls garnered her a Golden Globe nomination in 1967.

In her early years, she was the daughter of an Army officer, often moving with her family. In 1959, she was declared "Miss Richland," and planned to compete for Miss Washington before her family moved to Italy.

Sharon Tate has been a figure in pop culture for years, with her death often being the subject of documentaries. NBC's Aquarius covers Charles Manson and his "family," and briefly covers Tate's death. Sharon's sister has since boycotted the show publicly.
